Many sellers are still trying to sell “mystery boxes” or “surprise bundles,” but Whatnot now has clear rules to protect buyers and ensure transparency. Surprise Sets must:
✨ Be labeled as Surprise Sets as the Primary Selling Format
✨ Show every single item on screen the entire time. Items must be revealed before the auction.
✨ Provide a full detailed checklist in the listing (brand, condition, quantity, etc.)
✨ Contain only one type of product in each set
✨ Have no prizes, no floor/ceiling values, no machines for randomization
✨ Include only as many purchases as items available
✨ Have no off-platform presales and no buying from family, mods, or related users
Failure to follow these rules can result in account penalties or permanent bans.
