🌟🌟 QUESTION OF THE DAY 🌟🌟

❓ Did you know that you can use polls to your advantage during a live show?

Polls aren’t just for fun — they’re a powerful engagement tool. You can use them to:

• Ask buyers for sizes or preferences

• Find out what types of items they want to see next

• Or simply keep people involved so they stay to see the results

❓ Did you know that your graphics can directly impact how much buyers trust you?

A clean, professional logo helps create confidence before a buyer ever clicks your show. Your branding sets the tone for how serious, organized, and reliable you appear.

Many sellers use personal photos or pet images because they want a “personal touch.” Unfortunately, people do judge what they see. Some buyers hesitate to purchase based on personal appearance, and others avoid buying from sellers with pets entirely. For trust and neutrality, a professional logo is often the best choice.

I use Canva (Premium) and ChatGPT (Premium) to create all of my graphics. If you’d rather not design your own, I also offer custom graphics for purchase in my profile.

❓ Did you know that you cannot use a Flat Rate label on a non–Flat Rate box? 📦⚠️

This is being shared incorrectly by at least one person on Whatnot, but it is false information. A Flat Rate label must be used on an actual USPS Flat Rate box or envelope. You cannot use your own box, use another USPS "Large Shipping Box", cover a box, or substitute different packaging with a Flat Rate label.

If you do this, USPS can adjust the postage and you will be charged after the fact. I see sellers panic because their accounts went negative after following this bad advice. Those “dinged” charges add up fast.

If you ever have questions about shipping labels or something someone is claiming on Whatnot doesn’t sound right, ask before you ship. I’m always happy to help clarify.

And if you see…

❓ Did you know that you can restart your show for up to two hours after ending it on Whatnot?

If you accidentally end your show or need to jump back on, you may be able to restart the same show within a two-hour window. However, this must be done on a laptop or desktop — you cannot restart a show from the Whatnot app.

Some sellers say they’ve been able to do it through a mobile browser on iPhone or tablet, but I haven’t personally tested that yet. If you’ve done it successfully, reply and let me know.

Here’s how to restart:

Go to Seller Hub → Shows → Past Shows, find the show you just ended, and select the option to restart it.

❓ If you could suggest ONE feature to be added to Whatnot, what would it be?

It could be a brand-new feature, an add-on, a quality-of-life improvement, or even a glitch you feel still needs fixing. Maybe it’s something that would save time, improve buyer experience, help sellers, or make your overall Whatnot journey a little smoother.

Some things may never change due to policies, legal reasons, or platform limitations — but feedback still matters. Sharing ideas gets conversations started, and you never know who might be watching or listening. 👀

If you could change or improve ONE thing, what would it be and why?

🌟🌟 QUESTION OF THE DAY 🌟🌟

❓ Did you know that raiding into another seller after your show ends can actually help YOU? 🔁📈

Raiding isn’t just about being nice — it’s a smart networking move. When you raid into a seller who needs a boost, that support is often remembered. Sometimes it leads to raids back, future support, or shoutouts while you’re live.

The viewers in the show you raid may also follow you, bookmark your profile, or connect with you for future collaborations. If they’re sellers too, they might raid into you later because they know you support others.

All of this helps expand your network, increase visibility, and introduce you to new potential buyers you may never reach on your own.

Ending your show with a raid keeps momentum going — not just for them, but for you too. 💛

🌟🌟 QUESTION OF THE DAY 🌟🌟

❓ Did you know that packing items correctly can prevent damage, returns, and even legal issues? 📦

Boxes should NEVER have extra empty space. If you shake the box and it rattles (unless the item is meant to), that’s a problem. You shouldn’t feel items shifting inside. Everything should be snug, padded, and secure.

Always use proper cushioning like bubble wrap, packing paper, or foam so items don’t move during transit. Damage usually happens because of empty space, not because a box was too small.

IMPORTANT: Never use USPS FREE packaging (flat rate boxes, padded envelopes, etc.) as padding or filler inside other boxes. This is not only incorrect packing — it’s illegal. USPS supplies are federal property and are only meant to be used for their intended shipping service. Misuse can result in postage due, penalties, or worse. 🚫

❓ Where are you headed in 2026?

Today is the last day of 2025. We’ve looked back, reflected, and learned — now it’s time to look forward. Whether you believe in “New Year’s resolutions” or not, January 1 can be a powerful reset and a clean starting point for tracking progress. 📅

What is ONE thing you plan to do differently in 2026?

Is it consistency, scheduling, sourcing, mindset, or boundaries?

Do you have any specific goals for the year ahead — big or small?

🌟🌟 QUESTION OF THE DAY 🌟🌟

❓ As we look back on 2025… what’s the biggest lesson you learned — and what’s the biggest mistake you made?

Growth doesn’t come from only celebrating wins. It comes from recognizing what worked, what didn’t, and what you’d do differently if you had the chance. Some lessons were expensive. Some were uncomfortable. Some completely changed how you show up as a seller. 📉➡️📈

Mistakes don’t mean failure — they mean experience. And the lessons you take from this year can shape a much stronger 2026 if you’re willing to be honest with yourself.

Take a moment to reflect. One lesson. One mistake. One thing you’re carrying forward. 💭💛

❓ Did you know that building a strong “brand” on Whatnot starts with your NAME?

Staying consistent with your username across all platforms matters — Whatnot, social media, and any other platforms. Your logo, thumbnails, and profile banner… but your name is the foundation.

If you plan to build your business, your name should be:

• Unique

• Easy to read when typed together

❓ Did you know that ONE account setting could be hiding you from almost everyone on Whatnot? 👀⚠️

Whatnot has an “activity status” setting that controls who can see when you’re online, what shows you’re in — and even when you go LIVE. If this is turned off, other users won’t know you’re online, and some people may not even see that you’re live at all.

This can be a huge mistake. Sellers you support (and who support you) may be looking for you and never see your show pop up. Less visibility = fewer eyes.

Take a minute to check your settings 👇

❓ Do you have what it takes to give yourself a little “self tough love” going into 2026?

If you’re not happy with your sales, results, or growth, this is the moment to be honest with yourself — not harsh, but accountable. Change doesn’t happen overnight, but small, consistent adjustments can slowly steer you in the right direction.

For those who believe in New Year’s resolutions, now is the right time to start. Waiting until January doesn’t magically fix anything — action does. 📈

❓ Did you know that Christmas Day shows can actually bring strong results? 🎄

On Christmas Day, many sellers take the day off — which means less competition on the app. Fewer live shows can lead to more visibility, more attention, and more eyes landing on the sellers who do go live. 👀

Buyers are often scrolling while relaxing, traveling, or winding down after family time. If you choose to go live, you may benefit simply because there’s less noise and fewer options competing for attention.

Small note: Tomorrow, I will still be available for Booster Raids, but not all day long, as I’ll be celebrating with family. Thank you for understanding. 💛

Also, I won’t be posting a Question of the Day tomorrow. Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and a wonderful day to those who don’t celebrate. 🎄✨

❓ Who are the sellers you rely on most for support, education, or guidance on Whatnot?

There are sellers in this community who do more than just sell. They teach, answer questions, share knowledge, host discussions, run support shows, and help others grow — often without expecting anything in return.

Some of these individuals are so impactful that Whatnot would honestly look very different without them.

Who do you look to for advice or inspiration?

Who are your favorite seller-support voices?

🌟🌟 QUESTION OF THE DAY 🌟🌟

❓ Did you know that the “after holiday slump” is where consistency matters the MOST?

🎄Some sellers use this time to “reset” — new schedules, new inventory, or a full business overhaul using the “New Year’s resolution” excuse.

⛔️For most sellers, this is a BIG mistake.⛔️

Momentum doesn’t disappear because sales slow — it disappears when consistency stops. If you’ve built momentum, the only way to keep it is to stay consistent. If you haven’t built it yet, consistency is the ONLY way to get there.

Many long-time sellers know this well. Even when they go on vacation, they still go live — 🎥sometimes just to talk — because breaking routine can hurt visibility when you come back.

❓ Did you know that everything you put in your Whatnot profile is searchable and should be used as a marketing tool? 🔍📱

Your profile bio should focus on what you sell, not necessarily who you are. Buyers often search for items like “Gucci wallet,” “vintage tees,” or “carnival glass” — not personal details like “mother of 7 boys”

This may be hard to hear, but it’s real: in a recent survey on Vizzuals.com, many buyers said they avoid profiles that focus on health issues or personal struggles. Some worry orders won’t be fulfilled, others don’t want emotional pressure or future expectations. 😕

Your profile is your storefront. Unless you are running a charity event or supporting a specific cause, keep it about what you sell.

❓ Did you know that you can add extra insurance and signature confirmation to your sold items? 📦🔐

Every shipment includes up to $100 of insurance. That fully covers items sold for $100 or less. If an item sells for more, it’s the seller’s responsibility to add additional insurance to protect against loss or damage.

Example: If a purse sells for $150 and something happens in transit, only $100 is automatically covered. You can add $50 more insurance to fully protect the sale.

Important: Insurance can only be added up to the sold price, not the item’s retail value. If something is worth $1,000 but sold for $200, the max insurance is $200.

👑 Pro Tip: For higher-dollar items, add signature confirmation so the package isn’t left unattended. It’s an extra layer of protection that can save you major headaches. 💛

🌟🌟 QUESTION OF THE DAY 🌟🌟

❓ Did you know that using phrases like “no cancellations,” “no refunds,” or “bid responsibly” can actually scare buyers away? 😬🛑

You don’t need to include these in your show notes or listings. As a seller, you already have full control — you can approve or deny any cancellation request that comes in. Writing harsh rules only makes buyers nervous and can reduce sales.

Most cancellations are rare and harmless, and you’re never required to accept one if you don’t want to. So there’s no need to warn buyers with strict wording.

👑 Pro Tip: Great customer service is the best strategy. Sometimes allowing a cancellation (after hearing the situation) can win you a loyal customer for life. A little kindness goes a long way. 💛

🌟🌟 QUESTION OF THE DAY 🌟🌟

❓ Did you know that offering or even mentioning “free extras” to buyers is against Whatnot policy and can lead to permanent suspension? ⚠️📦

Sellers are NOT allowed to say things like “buy this and I’ll throw something extra in your package.” Any extra item tied to a purchase is treated the same as a purchase-based giveaway — and those are not allowed. 🚫

This applies even if you think you’re being generous. A “free item” included only because someone purchased is still considered requiring a purchase.

The ONLY approved way to give items away is through Whatnot’s official giveaway system and rules.

Violations can result in account action, loss of selling privileges, or permanent bans. This is serious — protect your account.

Most people know I’m not a fan of regular giveaways — but I AM a fan of Buyer Appreciation Giveaways. These are designed to reward buyers, not freebie hunters.

Yes, non-buyers are legally allowed to enter by filling out a form — that’s a “let it go” moment. If a non-buyer wins, you MUST ship the exact item listed. No substitutions. This is federal law, not a Whatnot rule. ✅

❓ Do you know the USPS Christmas shipping deadlines this year? 🎄📦

For holiday delivery, the Ground Advantage deadline is December 17, and the Priority Mail deadline is December 19.

If you plan to host live shows and ship the same day, these should be your final show dates to ensure buyers receive their packages before Christmas. ⏰✨

Remember: delays increase as the holiday gets closer, so earlier is always safer!

Whatnot tends to prioritize sellers who show consistency and commitment — and one way the system reads that is through how many upcoming shows you have scheduled. Sellers who plan ahead often get more visibility because Whatnot sees them as active, reliable, and invested. 📈🔥

So even if you don’t plan to stream every day, having multiple shows scheduled helps the algorithm take you more seriously — and can lead to more bookmarks and more buyers.

❓ Do you tip your mail carrier or local post office clerks? 📬🎄

With the holidays here, many sellers show appreciation — but there are rules. Mail carriers have a $50 value limit per year according to the newest USPS policy. USPS employees are not supposed to accept cash.

😜Personally, I am a USPS Supervisor and I still give my carrier $100+

For Post Office clerks, carriers, helpful management, giving food, treats, or gift baskets is usually the best option, since they cannot legally accept cash gifts. 🍪☕

🚨IMPORTANT: If you give a card or gift, make sure it has their name on it — not just “Mailman” or “Carrier.” Otherwise, any USPS employee (including a utility carrier covering the route) can legally take it.

Whatnot now has an in-app scanner that lets you scan your label by taking a picture before you drop it off. This helps notify the buyer that their item is on the way and adds a layer of tracking visibility… BUT this is not official proof of shipment.

The ONLY true proof that you mailed a package is a physical USPS scan and receipt. Once a postal employee scans your label, it shows the package entered the mail system — and protects you if a buyer claims an item wasn’t shipped. 🛡

🌟🌟 QUESTION OF THE DAY 🌟🌟

❓ Did you know that Thanksgiving Day sales can sometimes be MORE profitable than Black Friday? 🦃💰

While everyone gears up for Black Friday chaos, many larger sellers take Thanksgiving off — which means less competition and more visibility for YOUR show. Traffic is calmer, buyers browse longer, and impulse purchases tend to increase because people are relaxed, full, and scrolling. 📱✨

So if you normally skip the holiday — consider running a show. Even a short pop-up could pull extra buyers who won’t see as many options on the homepage.

👑 Pro Tip: If you go live, schedule early and use eye-catching titles. Add “Thankful Thursday Deals” or cute emoji combos to stand out. Buyers WILL click when curiosity kicks in. 💛

QUESTION OF THE DAY 🌟🌟

❓ Is this your first Black Friday on Whatnot? 👀🛍

Black Friday is one of the busiest days of the year on the app — which means tons of buyers, tons of sellers, and LOTS of competition. Expect higher traffic, faster-paced shows, and possibly a few glitches because so many people are live at once. 📈⚠️

To make the most of it:

✨ Schedule multiple shows throughout the day

✨ Try pop-ups during non-peak hours when competition drops

🌟🌟 QUESTION OF THE DAY 🌟🌟

❓ Did you know you can run multiple Flash Sales at once in your BIN? ⚡🛍 Flash Sales let you discount items for a specific amount of time — from 10 seconds up to 2 hours. That means you can keep certain items on sale for almost your entire show to drive urgency and extra sales. 📈🔥

You can choose either a $ amount off or a % amount off, depending on your strategy.

👑 Pro Tip: Be very careful with high percentages. Example: If you run 90% off a $1 sticker to push toward 1,000 sales, the buyer only pays $0.10 — but you still pay Whatnot + processing fees. That can leave you with a negative balance on that item. 💸

⏰🚨 Final reminder: TOMORROW is the last day to submit your Black Friday coupon for FREE promotion. Deadline: 12 PM EST.

🌟🌟 QUESTION OF THE DAY 🌟🌟

❓ Did you know what to do if a buyer purchases so many items that they won’t all fit in one box? 📦📦

If you need to split a shipment, you cannot put the same label on two boxes. Each package must have its own unique label. Using the same label twice is not only illegal, but you risk being charged full commercial rate for the second package — and that adds up fast. 🚫💸

Luckily, Whatnot makes it easy to unbundle an order. Just check the items you need to remove from the shipment, click Unbundle, and Whatnot will create a second label for the second box. Easy, legal, and accurate. ✔️

Small detail — big protection.

⏰🚨 Reminder: Only 2 days left to submit your Black Friday coupon for FREE promotion.

❓ Did you know that Whatnot added a new feature that makes sharing coupons even easier during your live shows? 🎉🔥

Buyers can still redeem coupons in their Wallet and the discount will auto-apply to their first qualifying purchase… BUT now sellers can create a claim button right in the chat!

All you have to do is type:

👉 /coupon YOURCODE

Example: /coupon VIZZ50

❓ Did you know that pinning an item during your live show sends a notification to anyone who bookmarked it, letting them know it’s about to run? 🔔👀

Pinning isn’t just for organization — it’s a built-in strategy to bring buyers back at the perfect moment. More eyes = more bids, more sales, and more momentum. 📈🔥

👑 Pro Tip: Keep the pinned item visible for a few seconds before running it so notified buyers have time to join.

⏰🚨 Reminder: You only have until TUESDAY to submit your Black Friday coupon for FREE promotion to over 160K Whatnot members.

🌟🌟 QUESTION OF THE DAY 🌟🌟

❓ Did you know that most sellers schedule their shows right ON the hour or half hour — which means Whatnot sends out a flood of notifications at the same time. 🔔📱

⏰ If you schedule at an odd time like 7:17 PM, 8:08 PM, or 6:43 AM, your notification is less likely to compete with others, making it more visible to your followers. 👀✨

This small tweak can help increase show attendance, bookmarks, and sales — just because your alert stands out.

🎩 Other Tips:

• Keep a consistent schedule so viewers form a habit.

🌟🌟 QUESTION OF THE DAY 🌟🌟

❓ Did you know that there are several ways to utilize flash sales? ⏳🔥

You can run Flash Sales for single items or multiples, and the timer can be very fast or as long as 2 hours. You can even run several during a show — they can run for the length of your whole show, including while auctions are happening — to help boost momentum, increase conversions, and keep buyers engaged. ⚡

Flash Sales create urgency, encourage faster decisions, and give buyers a reason to stay active in your show.

✨ Pro Tip: Use Flash Sales as an entry method for a Buyer Appreciation Giveaway. If you have multiples, discount them so buyers can purchase to enter. No multiples? Use stickers and drop them to $0.60 — fast, fun, and effective! 💛

🌟🌟 QUESTION OF THE DAY 🌟🌟

❓ Did you know that “Captions” is now available for all users, including Android?

“Captions” (or “captioning”) 🗣️lets viewers watch shows with their phone’s sound off while still reading everything the host is saying right on the screen.

As a seller, you 🚫cannot🚫control whether captions are on or off for buyers — the feature is available automatically on every show. Buyers can turn captions on by tapping the three dots on the show screen.

🤫This is a great tool for people who want to keep their volume low, and it’s very accurate. Just remember: if you whisper during your show, captions will still pick it up and display exactly what you said!🤭 Try it!

🌟🌟 QUESTION OF THE DAY 🌟🌟

❓ Do you have any serious pet peeves when it comes to purchasing from other sellers?

It’s time to put on your “buyers hat“ for this one… As a buyer, what is something that you hate to see sellers do in their show? What are some things that caused you to leave the show?

It’s true that we cannot ‘please’ everyone… Some people may say that they love loud, happy music and others might say that they hate hearing music at all… But… By answering these questions, you can help other sellers know what to avoid.

🌟🌟 QUESTION OF THE DAY 🌟🌟

❓ Did you know that Whatnot tracks your show frequency and uses it to help boost your visibility in search results and recommendations! 📈

The more consistently you go live, the more the algorithm recognizes you as an active seller, meaning your shows are more likely to appear on the “For You” and “Shows with Momentum areas. 👀

⏰ Tip: Create a schedule you can stick to — even one or two regular shows each week makes a big difference over time. Try using similar time slots so returning buyers know when to find you.

Consistency builds trust, helps the algorithm learn your rhythm, and keeps your audience coming back! 🔁

⭐ Stay visible. Stay active. Stay consistent. ⭐

🌟🌟 QUESTION OF THE DAY 🌟🌟

❓ Do you “pin” items strategically?

Even if you run random pulls, it’s smart to keep a few BIN or individually listed items in your auction tab. This gives buyers a preview of what you sell or what’s coming next! 👀

✅ Make sure those items are in your Marketplace so they’re easy to import — and buyers can bookmark them for alerts.

📌 When you pin an item, anyone who bookmarked it gets a notification and might jump into your show. Keep it pinned a few seconds before you run it so they have time to join!

💡 Pro Tip: Create a “notification listing” like this 👉 https://www.whatnot.com/s/Pmh3pOz4 🔖(please bookmark it for me)🔖

I use it to gather people for booster raids. Make your own version, tell buyers to bookmark it, and pin it at the start of your live (or mid-show) for an instant boost! ⚡

🌟🌟QUESTION OF THE DAY🌟🌟

❓Are shipping profiles REALLY needed?

Have you ever started shipping your items and realized that Whatnot bundled 20+ items in one box causing you to create separate bundles and pay for additional shipping?

Whatnot has a few built-in shipping profiles for your items, but they are basic and do not take into account the actual size of your items. This could mean disaster during shipping.

This information is different from the shipping that you choose when creating a show. And sometimes sellers confused the show shipping settings with the shipping profile settings.

When you create a shipping profile, YOU are telling Whatnot, how much your item weighs, and how many you can fit in a box. Unless YOU tell Whatnot this information, it will be determined for you.

For those reasons, not only is shipping profiles necessary for most people, but they can save you a lot of money and…

🌟🌟QUESTION OF THE DAY🌟🌟

❓ Do you know the most common shipping mistakes?

🚫Splitting up a bundle that is too large and then printing the same label for both boxes and shipping them both with the same tracking number. Not only is this wrong, but it can cause you to be investigated by Postal Inspectors, fined and even jailed.

🚫Using a Ground label on a Priority box.

🚫 Not using the correct packaging with a flat rate label.

🚫 Not changing your packaging dimensions when your package is over 12 x 12 x 12

🚫 Putting items that are not flat into a PWE (plain white envelope). Don’t put earrings or jewelry into these, they can get destroyed.

🌟🌟 QUESTION OF THE DAY 🌟🌟

❓Did you know that just communicating with a person, can change your whole Whatnot algorithm?

A lot of sellers talk about “algorithm“… But what really affects it?

I’ve done a lot of research and talked to several Whatnot staff members about this. I have learned that simply communicating with a person, will start to show their shows in my feed. Mostly private message interactions, or visiting their show at least once.

When people say that “Whatnot is saturated” it may only be THEIR feed that makes it look that way.

Test it out… Focus on a specific person or category to see how your algorithm changes.

🌟🌟 QUESTION OF THE DAY 🌟🌟

❓Did you know that you can network with local stores and get free shipping supplies and other stuff?

All it takes is a quick conversation with the manager of your local TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Target…. Let them know that you are an online reseller and you are looking for boxes to use for shipping. And then ask for permission to go in the back or dumpster and collect empty boxes.

You may not want to go dumpster diving, but this conversation can achieve several different things. once you start networking, exchange, contact information, managers will start putting things aside for you that they would have thrown out. This can include a lot of “disposables“ that they do not return to a warehouse but would have destroyed.

Test it out, and tried to work with at least one manager in your area.
